MEET THE DESIGNER

Hello, I’m Carolina.

I’m an emerging interior designer based in Vancouver, currently completing my Bachelor of Applied Design in Interior Design at La Salle College Vancouver.

Curious, observant, and slightly unconventional, I’m interested in how materials, lighting, furniture, and unexpected details shape the way we experience a space.

My process usually starts with a lot of tracing paper and experimentation before moving into SketchUp, AutoCAD, material exploration, rendering, and technical drawings.

I’m especially drawn to the places where design, atmosphere, and storytelling overlap.

ABOUT THE PROJECT

Fold.

A place for learning, making and creative practice.

Fold reimagines an existing three-level building as a shared home for two distinct spaces: Unfold, a collaborative learning environment, and Inkfold, an independent tattoo studio.

One idea. Different expressions.

Inspired by origami, the design explores how a flat surface can become a new form. Angular geometries, folded planes and changes in direction shape the interior, guiding movement and the transitions between spaces.

ABOUT THE PROJECT

Trails.

A journey through stories, nature and play.

Trails brings reading, creativity and shared experiences together in a children’s library. The design draws the outdoors inside, inviting each child to follow their own journey of discovery.

A little forest, indoors.

A winding trail connects spaces for reading, media and play. Tree-like columns and suspended clouds carry the woodland atmosphere through the library, while tiered seating invites children to climb a small forest hill and discover a new view at every level.

A path to discovery

House-shaped portals mark each destination. Passing between them creates the feeling of stepping indoors and returning to the forest beyond.
